Where I've Been And What Now?

I'm back! It's been a little while since I've gotten a new blog post up, almost 6 weeks to be exact! I've been quite busy on those 6 weeks, so in this post I just wanted to talk about where I've been and what I've been up to!

The last time I posted on here was back in March, and since then life has been pretty hectic, mostly thanks to university. When I last posted on here there was only a month left of my last year at university, so as you can imagine, things got pretty busy.

First up was my Honours dissertation, which I decided to put first and was the main catalyst for my mini blogging break. I had interviews left to do for my research and then an entire analysis chapter. After that came a whole lot of writing, sending it away for feedback, and then re-writing bits and pieces. On top of that I had the annoying little details to work with, like finding a place to print and bind my dissertation which then involved a lot of back and forth to get prices.

Everything I did involved working to a tight schedule I had set myself, trying to give myself enough time to finish different parts of my dissertation, coursework for my last two classes of the semester and somehow still find the time to eat, shower and sleep. Factoring all that together, I just wasn't able to find a spare minute to blog, I didn't event get time most of the time to take photos for Instagram or catch up on most of my favourite shows.

I submitted my dissertation on the 20th of April, and that felt like a weight off my shoulders. But after that I still had two pretty hands on assessments due very close together. With both assessments being creative PR projects for real life clients, the remainder of my time was spent creating visuals, writing reports, creating pitches or travelling in and out of Edinburgh for practices, it was a lot of work, but it was worth it in the end.

My last ever day at university was on Monday, which means now I'm officially finished my Honours degree. My graduation ceremony is on Thursday the 28th of June, which means now I'm going to have all the time in the world to focus on blogging!

So with university being over now and me finally having time to breathe and relax again, what now?

Well for starters I'm going to be getting back into a regular blogging schedule. I'm still keeping on top of my blogging goals for this year (I've listed them in this post, if you're interested!), so I'm still working towards that goals of 50-60 new posts this year. I'll be back to posting regularly, usually twice a week, as of next week. I've got a couple of posts in mind for the coming weeks, including one all about some new summer launches from the Body Shop which I'm excited to share. I'll also be trying to get back into daily posting on Instagram as well over the coming weeks, which I'm excited for because I love Instagram.

Looking at life things that are coming up, I've got a really exciting job interview coming up in May which I've got my fingers crossed for. I don't want to talk about it to much just in case, but I definitely have my fingers crossed because it's a position I would be so happy to take on.

I'll also finally be getting back into my gym routine next week which I am beyond excited about. It's no secret that this year I've this kind of falling in love with healthy eating and working out, but over the last month or so I've just not had any time or energy left over from university work to be able to get to the gym. I've been keeping on top of eating healthy, and when I can I've been going on long walks to keep up my exercise but I'm so excited to get back to the actual gym and get back on those machines, I've definitely missed it!

The other big thing I've got coming up soon is of course my university graduation, which is happening towards the end of June. I am so so so excited to graduate and to finally have my degree be official and final. It's being held in Edinburgh in the summer, so I can only hope and pray for one day of nice weather so I can get decent photos. I'm a little nervous to graduate too, mainly because I've never done anything really formal like it before so I'm worried I'm going to mess it up and go at the wrong time, or fall over, but we'll see! It also means I have to find something nice to wear so I can look presentable and get nice photos to remember the day by, but as someone who lives in jeans or riding pants, we'll see what the the outfit brings.

So all in all this post has just been a little bit of a life update for you all. I've been fairly quiet on my blog and even my social media's for the part 6-ish weeks but I just needed to take a step back and focus for a little bit. But with this post I wanted to let you know I was just super busy, but now I'm back!

When is the most hectic time in your year? Have you got anything fun coming up soon? Let me know!

Keep up to date with hiyaitsashley!
