Life Update + I'm Back!

Hello! It's been a while, I know. The year is almost half over and I'm only on post number 3, but that's what this post is all about! A lot has been going on these past months so I wanted to give you a little life update!

There's been a few things going on the past few months that have been keeping me extra busy which has meant that I've not really had the time to sit down and blog. But I'm still here, and over the coming months I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things here on hiyaitsashley!

The first thing that's been keeping me busy has been university. Those of you who follow my posts on here or who have me on social media will know that I'm doing my Masters in Marketing this year. Which means that January to April was semester B and it turned out to be a lot more hands on and busy than semester A was.

The modules this semester were a lot more busy than the modules before Christmas so that has been taken up a lot of my time this year and been part of the reason I've been absent on here. By the time I got done with lectures and seminars and the work placement I had to undertake, I had very little time or energy to dedicate to making the quality of content I strive for here on my blog, so I took a step back.

Thankfully though, semester B is now over and we're into semester C which means no lectures or assignments (yay!), but it does mean dissertation, eek. While I won't be attending lectures this semester at least, I'll still have my dissertation to get done before August, but at least I can take that at my own pace!

Although, that doesn't mean life is slowing down for me any!

As some of you might have already seen on social media a few weeks ago, I got a job!

I have really be proactive this year in looking for jobs for when I finished up classes, and back at end of April I came across a job listing for what, to put it completely honestly, seemed like my ideal job. It was for a company I knew of so I knew the reputation would be good, and it was doing a job that I knew I could really excel at.

So at the end of April I applied for the Outreach Executive position at Equator in Glasgow, and I got it!

Everything happened so fast with the application and interview process that I've barely had time to let it sink in, but I am beyond happy to have gotten this job.

My job as outreach executive is doing something very similar to what I do here on my blog - creating great content! Only this time it's for clients, not for myself. I've been in the position for three and a half weeks now and so far I have loved every minute of it.

One of my biggest fears a bout working was ending up in a job that doesn't excite me. I always wanted a job that I was excited about, that I wanted to be at every day. A job that I woke up and thought, "I can't wait to get into work today."

I am so pleased that my job is that job. I really do love it, and I'm good at it. I'm building on my skills, learning so many interesting things that aren't just going to benefit me in my career, but that will benefit me for things like blogging, for example. I love learning on the job, I love my work and I love my colleagues.

All in all, I'm happy. I think right now I'm the happiest I've ever been! Now that I have some more time on my hands I'm going to get back into blogging again, it's good to be back!
