Father's Day with Moonpig

As I'm sure, you're all aware Sunday was Father's Day. This year my dad got a lovely package sent over courtesy of the lovely team over at Moonpig, and since I also bought all of my amazing (if I do say so myself) Father's Day Cards from there as well, I thought it was time for a little review!

The Gift

The gift they kindly sent over was one of their limited edition Father's Day gift baskets, and I was so impressed with this when it arrived. I also love hampers as a gift for people, and Moonpig has some amazing ones. So, even though it's pat Father's Day now, I'd definitely recommend them for other occasions.

The one that was sent out for me to gift my dad was the 'Small Everyday Hamper' which is currently sold out, but I'd recommend keeping an out for when it comes back.

So, what was inside? The hamper comes with:
  • 1 box of English breakfast teabags
  • 1 bag of Buttermilk vanilla fudge
  • 1 Lily O'Brien's 'Petit Indulgence Collection' box of chocolates
  • 1 box of Simply Cornish shortbread
  • 1 box of handmade oatcakes
  • 1 miniature jar of marmalade

Everything comes packaged in a gorgeous wicker basket filled with fake straw, and it just looks so professional and well put together.

The Cards

When I opened the gift basket and saw how impressive it was, I actually ended up deciding to buy my 3 Father's Day cards from there too; 1 for my dad and 1 for each of my grandads.

I love any type of card or gift you can personalise, so these were right up my street. There were so many types of card available just for Father's Day, so they definitely get points for variety.

What I really, really loved though was the fact that... you could get cards for 'grandad'! If you know me at all, then you know that one of my biggest pet peeves with card shops is their lack of cards for grandparents and such. I hate that for special occasions you can never find 'gran' or 'grandad', it's always granny/grandad or nana/papa. There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you call your relatives, but I don't so it's so frustrating for me! (I'm aware this is a very silly thing to be frustrated about, but oh well.)

The cards I ended up going for were all ones you could add your own photos too. For my dad, I got one with 7 photo slots so I could put in pictures of my sister's and I, my mum, a family photo and one of my dad himself. I loved this because when you have siblings it can be hard to find personalise-able cards that have enough space!

For my grandad's I got them both photo cards as well, with the same idea. Spaces where I could put photos of my sisters and I with them.

All three of the cards let you write your own message inside, and it would come typed up, or you could have them come blank and handwrite them yourself which I also loved. You could even personalise the backs of the cards which was great, meaning I could get a nice photo of my dad and joke (a terrible dad joke of course!) in the back of my dad's, and a picture of my grandad and his dog's (priorities) on the back of his.

All in all, I loved my experience with Moonpig for Father's Day this year. I will definitely be going back for cards for other occasions this year, as I just love being able to personalise them so much and to be able to have my message type on the inside.

You can also have the card and gifts delivered right to the person's door if it's for a friend or someone who you don't see often?
