What I've Been Listening To Lately

It's no secret that I love music and listen to it every day. I listen to it on the way to and from work and even during work when I want to zone out and focus on what I neeto get done. Lately, I've also been really loving podcasts as well, so I thought now would be a great time to share with you what I've been listening to lately and some of my recommendations.

Music
Spotify is my player of choice when it comes to music because I love that you can not only create your own playlists, but you can select from already curated playlists for whatever mood you're in. Right now, my go-to playlist that I've made is my work playlist because it has a collection of my favourite songs, old and new, chilled out and full-on pop.

The playlist is a whole mash-up of things, to be honest. But, really I've just been adding songs as I go that make me happy, or feel motivated - even one that let me chill for easy listening. have my own little playlist with some of my favourite songs, everything from oldies to pop music to chill out tunes. You can check it out below if you're interested!

Easy Listening
Some of my favourites in this category include things like my all-time favourite song which, in case you were wondering is Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling In Love' and James Arthur's 'Say You Won't Let Go' which has been fast become a close second - the lyrics are so beautiful. Biffy Clyro made it on the list with 'Rearrange', as did 'She's Like The Wind' from my favourite movie, Dirty Dancing.

The Favourites
Of course, I couldn't make a playlist of my own without including some of my favourites now, could I? A lot of George Ezra songs have made it onto the playlist because no matter how I'm feeling, I love me some George, his voice is liquid gold, fight me. Marina made the cut too, as did a few oldies and a few newer songs - all of which are worth a listen! 'Enjoy Your Life' is one of my favourites, fyi! As mentioned, the King, of course, made it onto the list, as did my trust old loves Panic! At The Disco.

The Pop Hits
Then we have some of the more pop-y tunes because I love me some generic pop, sue me! Most of these, to be honest, are just current pop hits that have been on the radio or all over social media that have made me smile or become really catchy. Things like Billy Eilish's 'bad guy' or 'You Need To Calm Down' from Taylor Swift have made the list, as have more cheesy, yet surprisingly catchy, songs like Old Town Road.

The Oldies
Everyone loves a good throwback, right? Well, I do anyway, so I've got a bunch of older songs from the 70s up to the 00s on here because, why not? One of my favourites is 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' because it always instantly lifts my mood, as does anything at all by Elton John or Queen.

Spotify has some amazing curated playlists of their own thought, and I listen to a tonne of them alongside my own playlist, so it's only fair that I share some of my favourites from those too! Since I don't want to bore you with a tonne of text-heavy descriptions, here's a little graphic instead.

Everyone has different tastes in artists, but these generic playlists have a good all-round bit of every genre and are guaranteed to lift your mood!

Podcasts
I've also been really loving podcasts lately, and up until recently, I didn't even know Spotify had podcasts! If you know me at all then you'll know that I'm a massive true crime and conspiracy nerd, so that's what I've been listening to a lot of recently.

Right now, there are two podcasts that I've been really loving.

  1. Mile Higher Podcast by Kendall Rae and Josh Thomas

This podcast is seriously a must-listen for any true crime lovers or anyone who loves a good conspiracy theory. There is a tonne of episodes in the series, hosted by a husband and wife duo, and they delve into a lot of detail on a lot of different subjects.

They mostly cover serial killers and conspiracy theories, and they go into a lot of good detail with all of the thor accounts. Each episode is fairly long, but they really are incredible. I highly recommend their episodes on Ted Bundy and Fred and Rosemary West if you're interested serial killers!

2. The Serial Killer Podcast by PodcastOne

This one is on Apple Podcasts and, just like the title suggests, it is a podcast about serial killers. Just like the Mile Higher Podcast, the Serial Killer Podcast goes into a lot of detail on accounts of famous, and non-famous serial killers, and is really interesting to listen to.

The reason I got hooked on this podcast was actually because of their series on The Zodiac Killer. It was a 3-part series that lasted a total of 3 and a half hours all in, and I was hooked right from the very beginning. The host had guests on to talk about the case, went over real-life evidence and theories, and it was just so interesting. I really recommend this podcast to anyone who loves to learn about serial killers, they cover some of the most prominent cases to date as well as some lesser-known cases.

So, there you have it. That's a little glimpse into what I've been listening to recently. I would really love to get into some more podcasts, perhaps about marketing, digital marketing or business, so if you have any suggestions, please do let me know!

What have you been listening to lately? Have you got any music, playlist or podcasts to recommend to me? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Your playlist looks fab! It’s great to have a mix of motivational tracks and some easy listening ones, especially when you’re working. I love Spotify’s playlists, but I often find that a lot of them have the same songs on them which can be a bit annoying!

    1. Thank you! It's very mix and match but I think that makes for better all round playlist! Oh, definitely! That can be so frustrating at time!
